Is the Legal Recession Over?

There’s a great post over at Above the Law about the end of the legal recession with predictions from the writers. While the recovery from recession has been slow, both the finance and legal sectors actually shed jobs in 2011 according to The Atlantic. From the Atlantic piece:

In 2011, finance, insurance, and law were the three primarily white-collar professions that managed to shed workers, even as the rest of the economy trudged forward through a slow recovery.

 

While the recovery has been tough, especially on law students, it may be coming to an end. I have read numerous reports that say hiring should increase dramatically in 2012, especially during the first two quarters. The Above the Law post did contain one video (an interview with Above the Law Editor-In-Chief David Lat) that might shed some light on whether the Legal Recession is finally over:
